We have always believed that when God is on the move and we choose to follow, there will always be a disruption in our lives. This lived up to it. God put a vision on our hearts to start a church that would be a source of hope in our city and continuously point people back to the love of Jesus. We wanted to be a place where people could genuinely explore what it means to have faith in Jesus and to have a heart of curiosity so God could continue to mold and shape us into who He wants us to be. We wanted to be a community that was known for living out what they said they believed. We began with a small group of 21 people that were dedicated to prayer and gathering together for 15 months before having our first service in September of 2014. Looking back over these past 6 years it has been truly incredible to see the responsibility God has given us that can only be described as a miracle.
As we kicked off 2020, we expected God to continue to move through our community in a powerful way and He has done more than we could have imagined. On a weekly basis we hear about how God is transforming the hearts of people and we have the honor and privilege to be a part of that story. How incredible is that? We can’t ever take lightly that we get to make an eternal investment in the lives of people all throughout Richmond. God has not brought us to this point to get complacent and satisfied. We believe that He wants to do something far greater to continue to build His Kingdom here in Richmond. How cool is it that we even have the opportunity to be a voice of hope and love in a time of crisis throughout this world? There will come a time when this pandemic of early 2020 will pass and we want to make sure that God’s name is known in a powerful way because of how this community responded. Here’s the thing: you guys have done a wonderful job at this and you will see this in the report. One of the hallmarks of a community chasing after the heart of God is how generous it is. And that is who we are.
Thank you for being so generous. Thank you for creating an environment for people to be able to come just as they are. Thank you for committing to building a community that people can proudly call home. We love you all and consider it one of the greatest honors of our lives to do this along with you.
Love you all,
Wags and Lacy
