At Hill City we promise...
... To Give Irrationally
We want to give of our time, talents, and resources so much that it confounds those around us.
...To Never Stop Growing
We never want to stop learning, sharing, and challenging the status quo.
...To Always Have Fun
If a life with Jesus seems boring then we aren’t living it right! From the youngest to the oldest, we value having a good time and including others in the celebration.
...To Stay Fresh
We never want to become stagnant in how we reach people where they are. Because of that, we will choose advancing over preserving.
...For All Y'all
We want to be a safe, encouraging place for all people to ask questions, explore their faith, and experience community in Richmond.
In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus spoke these words to his disciples:
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Jesus gives his disciples a very specific purpose for the church, it can be summed up in this statement:
Love God. Love People. Pass it on.
The apostle Paul writes of this amazing change that happens in us when we experience Jesus and the responsibility that follows for all who believe.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 says this: 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them.
And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
